Mantra: The Journey is the Destination

Yoga changed Kelsey’s life. She has always prioritized physical fitness, but not always for the healthiest reasons. Since introducing yoga to her life she noticed that not only is she stronger physically, but  also mentally and emotionally able to take on whatever comes her way. It’s been an incredible journey that she feels called to share.

Kelsey spent the majority of her adult life chasing the life she thought she “should” have. She has struggled with self limiting beliefs surrounding body image, not feeling worthy, the need to please, and so much more. Yoga has taught her that she does not need to attach to her body or anything else. In her practice, she works towards peeling away the doubt and judgement, and focuses on the things she can control. When she does this, she can love herSelf and then she is able to love others so much more deeply.

Once Kelsey felt the effects of how the practice of yoga changed her life she was determined to share it with others. Kelsey is an E-RYT 200 and it is her greatest honor and privilege to share her practice with those that can relate. It is Kelsey’s goal to empower the practitioners in class to live their truth, find their peace and to be free.

Tami Aspeitia-Mastriona, E-RYT 200

Yoga became a passion for Tami when she started listening to her body. Years of trail running caught up with her and she needed a gentler way to keep herself in shape.  After her first yoga class, she was hooked. Tami found healing, joy, and awareness that yoga is more than just a workout. She experienced a greater amount of abundance and gratitude for the practice as well as appreciation for all living things. For 15 years her personal practice grew into a desire to bring her love for yoga to others.

Tami earned her 200YTT and left her corporate career to pursue teaching yoga full time. She went on to earn certifications in Traumatic Stress and Resilience and Healing with Yoga, Yoga for strength and Stamina, and CPR/AED/First Aid. She earned her MSP to better understand the human mind and how the body/mind connection is enhanced through yoga practice. I created a yoga program which has helped many trauma survivors find strength and peace. She also worked closely with United Stroke Alliance with her husband to facilitate Stroke Camps in Arizona and Colorado.  Tami shares how yoga can help survivors and caregivers open themselves up, let go of stress, and breathe into releasing negativity and stress.

Teaching yoga gives her so much satisfaction in guiding others to find balance, centeredness, strength, and bliss. She  has participated in many diverse teaching opportunities including senior chair yoga, adaptive yoga for stroke survivors and amputees, and yoga therapy for those suffering from PTSD, anxiety, and depression.

Tami is so excited to be a part of the Colorado Yoga community! She moved here with her husband from the Phoenix area. She most looks forward to grounding herself in this unique and beautiful environment.

Tanner Schnurr, RYT 200

Tanner Schurr was introduced to yoga a couple of times during COVID as a fun, brief activity, and an excuse to get social during lockdown. He never had intentions to pursue it. Fast forward three years, a major knee surgery, and retiring from professional football – one could probably imagine his opinions on human anatomy changed dramatically!

What brought Tanner back to yoga was less the physical aspects, rather the mental connection he desperately was in search of after dealing with bouts of grief on multiple levels. Once he began the deep-dive into his chaotic practice, his body began to realize these benefits he proudly hones and shares with this community.

Tanner’s goal is simple; to provide presence and a safe practice, allowing space for anyone to enjoy non-judgment as they journey into what yoga means to each of them!
